Hyundai’s 2020 model-year lineup will feature some new and exciting models for both the luxury market and the more affordable compact car segment. Hopefully, this should help the company to regain its popularity that it has lost in recent years with its sales decreasing from 605,000 units sold in 2016 to only 319,000 units sold last year. The automaker is looking to capitalize on the growing demand for small cars and crossovers as well as increasing demand for hydrogen fuel cell technology.
Hyundai will continue to offer crossover SUVs such as the Santa Fe Sport and Niro but they are also planning a more powerful coupe than ever before. The Kia Stinger is expected to be Hyundai’s direct competitor by offering a similar package at a lower price. Let’s take a closer look at the 2020 Hyundai lineup and what you can expect from them in the future.

Hyundai Santa Fe Sport

The 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport is a compact SUV that will be available in either a 2.0-liter or 3.3-liter V6 engine with six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. A hybrid version of the 2020 Santa Fe Sport is also expected to be offered with the 1.6-liter turbocharged direct injection (TFI) four-cylinder engine paired with a 48V/28 kWh battery and an electric motor that develops 97 hp and 260 Nm of torque. There will also be an option for a plug-in hybrid setup featuring a 1.6-liter TFI four cylinder engine with 185 hp and 276 Nm of torque mated to an electric motor driving the front wheels through a 16 kWh battery pack for up to 26 miles of total driving range on electric power alone. – The 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport is expected to offer better fuel efficiency than its predecessor at 22 mpg city, 30 mpg highway, and 23 mpg combined when equipped with the company’s new 1,450cc engine.

Hyundai Nexo

Fuel Cell Car

The new 2020 Hyundai Nexo Fuel Cell Car is an electric car that can be recharged at home or refueled at hydrogen stations. The fuel cell powered vehicle produces zero emissions, and allows the driver to travel up to 500 kilometers (310 miles) on a single tank of hydrogen gas. So, how long does it take to fill up? It takes around 2 minutes and 30 seconds to complete refueling.
The first production model will be available in Korea in the second half of 2019 and will be ready for sale in the United States next year priced at $57,500. This is quite expensive considering that other 2020 models are expected to cost around $25,000-35,000 with similar features. However, if you’re looking for a fuel cell vehicle that meets your budget then this might be for you.

2020 Hyundai Coupe

The 2020 Hyundai Coupe will likely feature a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with at least 250 hp and an electric motor for an estimated output of 360 hp. This should help in giving the car better performance and a faster 0-60 time. The 2020 Hyundai Coupe will be designed to compete against American and German luxury sports cars such as the BMW M3, Mercedes C63 AMG, and Audi TTS S4. The coupe will also have a high level of technology with the latest collision warning system, automatic emergency braking, a 3D surround camera system, adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection, and lane departure warning systems. The interior will also feature an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen as well as wireless phone charging capabilities.

Hyundai is going to continue offering new crossovers and SUVs but they are also planning to offer more powerful coupes than ever before by including an electric variant that can achieve up to 360 horsepower while still remaining affordable enough for consumers.

New Hyundai Elantra

The 2020 Hyundai Elantra has been redesigned for a sleeker look. This means it will have sportier lines and an improved driving experience through improved handling, steering and suspension. The car will also feature a new 1.6-liter turbocharged engine that is supposed to offer more power and better fuel economy than the current model.
The all-new Hyundai Elantra will be offered with a rearview camera as well as climate control with heating and ventilation as standard equipment in addition to heated seats. The interior is also expected to get some updates in the future while still keeping its classic design feel.
In terms of pricing, the 2020 Hyundai Elantra should start at less than $21,000 which would put it on par with the 2020 Honda Civic but starting at around $3,000 more than the 2019 model.

New Hyundai Accent

The 2020 Hyundai Accent will be their first offering in the compact car segment with new exterior design and updated interiors. The new model is expected to offer more power and an upgraded infotainment system. The Hyundai Accent is also likely to come with an all-new engine that has been developed especially for this model.
Hyundai is also hoping to capture a larger share of the luxury market by introducing new models like the Veloster Turbo Coupe, which will offer a turbocharged engine delivering up to 360 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. It will be followed by the Santa Fe Sport, which will be available in either a rear or all-wheel drive configuration.
In total, Hyundai plans on introducing 10 new models in 2020 and expanding their reach into emerging markets such as China, India, Europe, and Brazil.

Hyundai Veracruz icago and Tucson ix

The 2020 Hyundai Veracruz is expected to be a midsize SUV with an estimated price of $32,000. It will have a powertrain with an impressive output of 340hp and 380lb-ft.
The 2020 Tucson ix is expected to have a 2.0L turbocharged engine with 250hp and 295lb-ft. The 2020 Tucson ix is also expected to have performance upgrades that include the ability to go 0-60 in less than five seconds with 10 gears available and a top speed of 155mph.
The 2020 Hyundai Veracruz comes in either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive and has several packages including a hybrid package as well as a model equipped with intelligent driving aids like Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking Systems.
The rest of Hyundai’s lineup for 2020 includes the Ioniq Sport, 2019 Santa Fe Sport, 2019 Niro, 2019 Kia Stinger, 2019 Genesis G70, 2020 Sonata Hybrid Limited, 2020 i20 facelift and 2020 Elantra GT Premium.

2020 Hyundai Sonata

The 2020 Hyundai Sonata is an all-new model that offers a range of new features and improvements to the previous generation. The car will be offered in two trims: Standard, which offers an engine with 185 horsepower, and Premium, which bumps up the engine power to 235 horsepower. It will also come with a standard 2.0 liter turbocharged engine that can produce 295 horsepower as well as a 2.4 liter turbocharged engine that can crank out 365 horsepower. Customers can choose either manual or automatic transmissions with the automatic transmission being available on both trims. A 6-speed manual gearbox is also an option for those customers who wish to have more control over their driving experience.
The 2020 Hyundai Sonata will also offer drivers the option of a plug-in hybrid variant when it arrives later this year at a price not yet available to the public. This particular model will be able to travel for up to 12 miles on battery power before it needs to be recharged just like any other hybrid vehicle does today. The next generation Sonata will have increased safety features such as blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control with automated braking, and rear cross traffic alert system. These additions are sure to make driving in areas of heavy traffic safer and less stressful than ever before.

Bottom line

Hyundai is hoping to improve their sales numbers in 2020 by offering some exciting new models that will help with their overall marketability and popularity. Hyundai’s lineup will feature a new coupe and crossover SUVs but the company also plans to enter the luxury market with a sedan model. The automaker will compete directly with Kia and other companies for the growing demand for small cars, crossovers, and fuel cell vehicles like the Nexo. Hyundai is looking to capitalize on these trends as well as increase their presence in the luxury market in order to keep up with their competition.
